Guide for authors
The Saigon International University Journal of Science sincerely thanks all scholars for choosing to submit their manuscripts. Please take the time to read and follow these guidelines to ensure your rights and a smooth publication process.
- General Regulations
- Manuscripts submitted to the Saigon International University Journal of Science must be original, unpublished works that do not duplicate any previously published material, including those authored by the same author(s).
- Manuscripts should be submitted exclusively to the Saigon International University Journal of Science and should not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
- Manuscripts must not contain abusive, defamatory, pornographic, fraudulent, or illegal content. Discriminatory language of any kind, including racial or gender bias, is strictly prohibited.
- The Saigon International University Journal of Science follows a double-blind peer review process. All feedback is appreciated as it contributes to the Journal’s sustainable development. Each article meeting submission standards will be sent to at least two independent reviewers for scientific evaluation. The Editorial Board bears full responsibility for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. The Editorial Board’s decision is final.
- Currently, the Saigon International University Journal of Science does not charge any submission or publication fees during the first two years (2025–2026). During this period, all published articles are freely accessible under open access without cost to authors.
- General Instructions
- Manuscripts may be written in either Vietnamese or English, using appropriate punctuation and spelling conventions. Use single quotation marks for direct quotations, except when nested inside parentheses. All pages must be numbered.
- Manuscripts must not exceed 12 pages (including tables, notes, references, and appendices); prepared in Microsoft Word (“.doc” or “.docx” format); Times New Roman font; A4 paper size; font size 12; margins: top 1.5 cm, bottom 1.5 cm; English phonetic transcription in IPA. Line spacing: single. Include a title page with: article title, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and contact information (email address required).
- Manuscripts should be organized as follows: title page; abstract; keywords (in Vietnamese and English); main text; references; appendices (if any); tables (if any); figures (if any). Tables and figures must be numbered and clearly referenced within the text.
- A complete paper should include the following key sections: Introduction; Theoretical Background; Research Methodology; Research Findings; Conclusions and Managerial or Policy Implications (or Solutions).
- The abstract must be written in both English and Vietnamese (identical in content and meaning), not exceeding 300 words, using Times New Roman, font size 12 (Unicode), formatted as a single paragraph including: background, objectives, data, methods, findings, conclusions, and key recommendations (if any). The abstract should highlight the paper’s main results, contributions, and novelty. Equations, figures, and references should not be included.
The Vietnamese abstract appears at the beginning of the paper, and the English abstract at the end, after the References section.
- Keywords must be provided in both English and Vietnamese (with equivalent meaning), 3–5 keywords, arranged in alphabetical order. All keywords are written in lowercase, except proper nouns/scientific names. Keywords are separated by semicolons, with no punctuation after the final keyword.
- Section headings should be concise, numbered, and follow a decimal numbering system for subsections.
- Authors must provide full names, institutional affiliations, postal addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses on the title page. If there is only one author, they are considered the corresponding author. Please indicate the institution where the research was conducted. If any author changes affiliation during the review process, note the new affiliation. The corresponding author’s email must appear in both the PDF and electronic publication versions.
- All listed individuals who have contributed significantly to the manuscript are considered co-authors. The corresponding author must have the consent of all co-authors regarding authorship order and communication with the Editorial Board.
- Author biographies are optional.
- Detailed Guidelines
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12; paper size 28x20 cm; single spacing; references in size 10.
- Numbering and Dates: Use Arabic numerals (e.g., 2, 3). Dates should be written as: 23/4/2025.
- Title: Bold and capitalized as appropriate.
- Author Names: Provide full names of all authors and collaborators in the general information section.
- Affiliation: Provide institutional affiliation for each author (organization, university, city, country).
- Corresponding Author: Provide the institutional email of the corresponding author. This information is required for internal use but will not be published.
- Double-Blind Review: Author identities must not be disclosed to reviewers, and vice versa.
- Abstract: Present clearly under its heading in smaller font size.
- Keywords: List up to 5 keywords to facilitate indexing and discovery. Use short keywords (no more than 6 words each).
- Section Headings: Please format section titles as follows:
- Level 1 heading (e.g., Introduction): Bold; capitalize proper nouns.
- Level 2 heading: Bold, italic; capitalize proper nouns.
- Level 3 heading: Italic; capitalize proper nouns.
- Level 4 heading: Italic; begins within a paragraph, followed by a period or other punctuation before text.
- Tables, Figures, and Charts: Clearly indicate where each table, figure, or chart should appear. Data tables and figures may be placed at the end of the text or in a separate file upon the Editorial Board’s request.
- Captions for Tables/Figures: Each table/figure must have a concise caption (not embedded in the figure itself) that describes the content. Minimize in-figure text but define all symbols and abbreviations used.
- References:
- The Saigon International University Journal of Science follows the APA 7th (American Psychological Association) citation style. Author names, article/book titles, publication year, journal/volume/issue, and page numbers must be included. DOI is strongly recommended.
- Data citations: The Journal encourages authors to cite data sources in both the text and reference list. A data citation should include: author(s), dataset title, database name, version (if applicable), year, and a persistent identifier. Add “[Data set]” before the reference to indicate it is a dataset citation.
- Language: Vietnamese or English.
- Supplementary Materials: If the article includes recordings or supplementary documents, these must be submitted along with the manuscript for review purposes.
- Footnotes: Use sparingly and number consecutively throughout the article.
- Research Data: The Saigon International University Journal of Science encourages and permits authors to share research data to support their findings and link datasets with their published articles when appropriate.
- Double-Blind Review: The Journal adopts a two-way double-blind review system to ensure confidentiality between authors and reviewers.
- Submission: All manuscripts, correspondence, and editorial communications (including decisions and revision requests) must be sent via email and through the online submission system.
- Revised Submission: Regardless of the initial file format, after revisions, authors must submit an editable file (e.g., Word). Keep formatting simple, as most formatting codes will be removed during processing. To avoid unnecessary errors, authors should use spell and grammar checking tools before submission.
